If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane I would walk right up to heaven and bring you back again No farewell words were spoken No time to say goodbye you were gone before I knew it and only god knows why My heart still aches with sadness and secret tears still flow what it meant to love you no one can ever know But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more to remember all the happy times life still has much in store Since you'll never be forgotten I pledge to you today I hold a place within my heart is where you'll always stay

To Dad Thank you for being you. Thank you for raising me to be the man I am today . Thank you for instilling the values in me I have today. Thank you for being my best friend, a shoulder to cry on and someone to have a laugh with. Thank you for being the best grandad to Harry and Darcie and embracing the relationship you had with them. They miss you deeply as do all of us. And now all of you here , the ones who were lucky enough to know dad. He always knew how to make everything right and get things done. Nothing was too much trouble for dad and was always eager to help. A very clever man who was always happy to share his knowledge. He had some great stories to tell that kept people entertained as I'm sure a lot of you here had the pleasure of hearing or even being part of. Dad never suffered fools and always said it how it was even if not appropriate, but always got a laugh . I've heard stories of him at work whilst someone was mid sentence saying " can I stop you there as you're boring me " and then walk off. But that's why we all loved dad, you knew exactly where you stood with him. I am very lucky to have spent so much of my adult life just hanging out with him, going to car shows , cruising in our classic cars,various rallies and auto jumbles so he could get that must have bargain he'd have no room for. I shall miss this great man for ever but so grateful to of had him in our lives. They say not all heroes wear capes and that's true, mine wore checked shirts and jeans
